Classes:

My yoga classes are designed for those wanting to improve their balance, agility, strength, and suppleness, as well as harness greater equanimity of the mind. If you feel stressed or overwhelmed, or you want to keep your body more supple and increase your vitality, my yoga classes are just for you.

Each yoga class is gentle, yet very effective in improving one's overall well-being. The classes include yoga poses and some attention is given to meditation and calming the overactive mind.  Classes are not fast-paced, and modifications and adjustments are offered throughout the class to make yoga poses accessible to all ability levels.

Background:

I have always been drawn to practices such as yoga, t'ai chi and meditation. Having taken classes as early as high school, I undertook formal training and became a certified T'ai Chi Chih instructor in 1997 and an RYT 200, certified yoga teacher in 2003.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree from Northern Kentucky University in Health and Physical Education. I have been teaching yoga, meditation, and t'ai chi in the Greater Cincinnati area for over 20 years.

I had the good fortune of living in Japan for three years.  While there, I studied meditation with the Zen Master, Keido Fukushima Roshi, and deepened my t’ai chi practice as well.

My first teachers and studies of yoga were Iyengar- and Anusara-based which primarily focus on proper alignment of the body. Additional studies expanded my knowledge of the energetic essence of yoga with Shiva Rea, and learned Kundalini Yoga and the development of daily practices to increase health and inner radiance with Gurumuk.

I also hold certifications from the Himalayan Institute as an Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist Practitioner and most recently completed certification courses inYoga for Healthy Aging and Trauma Informed Yoga. I teach corporate, private, university, online, and community-based classes.

When not on my yoga mat, I am in the outdoors, either biking or hiking; exploring new cooking recipes; or enjoying one of my greatest passions — dancing — Lindy Hop to ballroom.
